Kim Hobart

Kim's love of beer originated during college. While studying history and religion she developed quite the taste for various craft beers in numerous bars in Amsterdam. After graduation, instead of working as a teacher, she started working as manager in a bar for Belgian craft beer. Seeing that there was a high demand for on-location beer tasting sessions, she started her own company: Kim's Bierproeverijen. This company focuses on beer tastings, consultancy and the training of bar- and restaurant staff. Because she is always thirsty for more knowledge and of course beer, she started the Beer Sommelier course at Stibon, in the Netherlands. In 2013 she also graduated as International Beer Sommelier from Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago. 

Having a background in education and an enormous passion for craft beer the plans for the future include teaching about craft beer. Together with the Beer Academy she will focus on teaching more and more people about craft beer. Hopefully, not just in the Netherlands, but also in other countries.
